Abstract

Orbital blowout fracture occurs only on the medial wall and (or) the floor(inferior wall) of orbit, and orbital rim integrity. It is different from the compound orbital fractures. Contents of orbital with hemiation or entrapment in ethmoid sinus and/or maxillary sinus, lead to serious consequences such as extraocular movement limitation and enophthalmos. Its diagnosis mainly based on imaging. In recent years, with the development of imaging technology, especially the new technology applications of multisliecs spiral computed tomography (MSCT) multiplanar reconstructions (MPR) of two-dimensional (2D) images, volumetric rendering (VR) three-dimensional (3D) images, high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and dynamic MRI, in the diagnosis and clinical evaluation of orbital blowout fracture made some progress. Key words: Orbital fracture, blowout; Tomography, spiral, computed; Magnetic resonance imaging; Ultrasonography
