Abstract
This chapter discusses thiazoles, which is an important component of organic chemistry. The chemical agents mentioned in the book are classified by both their functional group type and product utility designation. This provides reader easy access to any specific agent. This chapter focuses on two US patents related to thiazoles. It provides the details of these two US patents. The first patent discussed is oxazolo, thiazolo and selenazolo [4,5-c]-quinolin-4-amines and analogues thereof. The assignee for this patent is 3M Innovative Properties Company and the utility designation is treatment of viral and neoplastic diseases. The other patent discussed is tri-aryl-substituted-ethane pde4 inhibitors, authored by B. Cote and others. The assignee for this patent is Merck Frosst Canada & Co. and the utility designation is antiasthmatic and anti-inflammatory precursors. The experimental details are provided for each patent. Besides this, reactions, derivatives, and notes are provided for additional understanding. The chapter also lists US patents that have been referred to collect the information for the content of the chapter.
