Abstract

A spheroid BaTiO3 with a diameter of approximately 2.5mm was synthesized using an aerodynamic levitator. A polycrystalline perovskite BaTiO3 was crystallized from a homogeneous melt. The transition from cubic to hexagonal shifted to low temperature due to oxygen-deficient BaTiO3. The aerodynamic levitation technique provided an effective method for determining the thermophysical properties such as latent heat of fusion, density, and volumetric thermal expansion coefficient of materials.
