Abstract

Thermoluminescence in KCl:Na (>250 ppm) crystals has been examined. Analysis indicates that processes involved follow the first-order kinetics. The frequency factor (∼10 10s −1) obtained favours an electron-hole recombination occuring after an electron has passed through the conduction band. It is also suggested that the 440 nm band peak found in pure samples in resolved into 500 nm and 430 nm band peaks in Na-doped samples.
