Abstract

The temperature dependence (5–100 K) of the thermoelectric power of the Kondo system Ce 1− x La x B 6 ( x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 0.95 and 1) has been measured systematically. The thermoelectric power of CeB 6( x = 0) shows not only a so-called Kondo peak but also an abrupt decrease above the Kondo peak with increasing temperature and shows a pronounced minimum at around 30 K. The La-substitution effects on this anomalous behavior have been reported, and this anomalous behavior is discussed also refering to the other corresponding experimental anomalous results of the specific heat and the thermal conductivity in CeB 6.
