Abstract

Abstract In the temperature range where the unique broadening of the resistive transition occurs, in the mixed state of high- T c superconductors the thermoelectric and thermomagnetic effects are also expected to attain a considerable magnitude. The longitudinal (thermoelectric) and transverse (thermomagnetic) effects are dominated by different mechanisms. The vanishing of flux pinning characteristics of the high- T c superconductors above the irreversibility line represents the prominent underlying common feature influencing all of these transport phenomena.
