Abstract
Thermodynamic stability constants of the 1 : 1 complexes of Ba 2+ and Sr 2+ with phthalate ion at five different temperatures determined by the potentiometric method are reported and Δ G, Δ H and Δ S for complex formation are calculated. The effect of hydration characteristics on thermodynamics of ion association is discussed.
