Abstract
The mean activity coefficients of KCl were determined in glycerol–water mixed solvents, in the range of (0, 10, 20, 30, and 40)% of glycerol, from the electromotive force (EMF) data at (298.2, 303.2, and 310.2)K. The Pitzer equations were used to describe non-ideal behavior of the electrolyte, and the corresponding activity and osmotic coefficients were determined. Moreover, Pitzer parameters, the excess Gibbs free energy and solvent activity of KCl–glycerol–water system were calculated.
