Abstract

Densities and sound velocities were determined for morin hydrate (MH) loaded nanoemulsions (NEs) (MH-NEs), prepared using cationic, anionic and non-ionic surfactants, as a function of the MH molalities (2.7 to 13.7) × 10−6 mmol·kg−1 at T = 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15 K. These data were used to calculate isentropic, acoustic and light velocity parameters along with the refractive index. The MH-NEs were found to possess characteristic particle sizes between 80 and 500 nm with polydispersity indices from 0.077 to 0.985. The variations in these parameters were analyzed to investigate the behavior of phobic–phobic, phobic–philic, philic–philic, van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonding, which are responsible for the thermodynamic and kinetic stability of the NEs.
