Abstract

This paper presents an investigation of the periodic heat transfer through a double hollow concrete block, one face of which is exposed to solar radiation and atmospheric air while the other is in contact with room air at constant temperature. It is seen that maximum load levelling occurs when the thickness of the two air gaps is the same (5 cm); for typical parameters a time difference of 12 h between maximum/minimum of the thermal flux and solair temperature is also obtained.
