Abstract

The study is being conducted to optimize a proposed souble hollow slab (multilayered slab with two air gaps) whose one face is exposed to incoming solar radiations while the other one is kept in contact with the room air at constant temperature. To attain maximum thermal load levelling (cooling the building in harsh climates where days are very hot and the nights, cold), we have optimized the inner and outner thicknesses of the slab wich is made of concrete, keeping the total thickness of two, constant, total wall/roof thickness is being considered constant.
