Abstract
In this paper two ways of measuring current maps ongold micro-stripes on a nanometric scale are shown. In the firstone, an alternating current is applied to the stripe and the thermal expansionof the tip-sample system is registered by the cantilever. Inthe second one, maps of adhesion of the surface are acquiredsimultaneously with the topography. The adhesion force mapvaries with the temperature because it depends mainly on thewater meniscus between tip and sample, and the size of themeniscus depends on the temperature.
