Abstract

As is known from the theory of a thermal explosion an exothermal transformation can proceed in a chemically active medium in two regimes: quasistationary or in a nonstationary self-accelerating regime. A special regime occurs for a critical combination of parameters separating the explosive and stationary regime domains. Substance transformation in the heated layer of a combustion wave also occurs under nonsymmetric heating and ignition conditions. In this respect the authors analyze the thermal reaction mode in the combustion front from the aspect of the chemical transformation mode in thermal explosion theory.
