Abstract

Abstract The temperature dependence of the dislocation mobility threshold is investigated on the basis of a dislocation model suggested by Frenkel–Kontorova. The critical value is obtained for the stress/temperature, corresponding to the dislocation depinning from its equilibrium position. The universal behaviour of a barrier height at finite stress and temperature is revealed and investigated.
