Abstract

All the materials of earth are subject to radiative exchange, & while their thermal properties are well recorded, there is a surprisingly small amount of information available on the various temperatures achieved by standard landscaping materials and their subsequent radiating capabilities. This paper aims at providing some factual data on temperatures achieved by exposed and shaded surfaces at the hottest time of day - 1:00 pm - during the month of July 1981, in Miami, Florida.
