Abstract

The thermal behavior and Raman spectroscopic properties of potassium diaqua bis(oxalato)nickelate(II) tetrahydrate {K2[Ni(C2O4)2(H2O)2]·4H2O} crystals have been investigated. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with P21/c space group and shows one-dimensional (1D) chain structure. The microstructural features on the surface of the single crystals were determined using a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). Raman spectroscopy was used to study the vibrational modes of the compound. Thermal studies indicate that the compound is stable up to 280 °C.
