R E Marshak, Riazuddin and C P Ryan Chichester: John Wiley 1969 pp xiv + 761 price £14 5s A reasonably coherent phenomenological theory, dealing with most aspects of low-energy weak interaction processes, has grown up steadily if unspectacularly over the past ten years or so, and is now passing the point at which a comprehensive account would more than fill a fairly large book. These authors have taken stock of the situation up to mid 1968, and have now produced such an account, presented largely from the point of view of the V–A current-current form of the effective Hamiltonian.
