Abstract

A new type of spin structure, called speromagnetism, has recently been observed in some amorphous materials. Preliminary theoretical studies on the basis of a random distribution molecular field model (RMF) have been carried out. In order to analyze such a system within the framework of Landau theory, a method of stochastic functions has been used. While the result of the calculations implies a scattered distribution of orientations of the spins in space, the sum total of the spins does not vanish. Additional calculations demonstrate that the susceptibility of any system with RMF does not diverge at the second-order phase transition point.
