Abstract
Calculations of the Faraday rotation and ellipticity of the reflected beam have been made for plane polarised infrared radiation normally incident on alkali halides containing U centers. The predicted maximum reflection coefficients, Faraday rotations and ellipticities are such that these should be experimentally observable.
