Abstract

The paper is based on the authors' expertise and scientific research into the coexistence operating of the buildings located in the outskirts of cities near high voltage (HV) power lines. The coexistence study is a technical-economical document in which the overhead lines' mechanical and/or electrical assumptions are defined based on inspections, calculations, measurements, and other methods. Considering the accelerated development of cities nearly the HV power infrastructure, the paper presents the authors expertise based on mechanical calculus about the safety operation of buildings in the coexistence with the overhead power lines. These theories are validated by the results for a real study case.
