Abstract

The paper presents the authors scientific research that determines the coexistence operation of the urban buildings closest to high voltage (HV) power lines. The coexisting study is a professional documentation for which the electrical and mechanical hypothesis of the overhead power lines are defined based on investigations, computation, observations, and so on. The placement of additional infrastructure or networks on the passageway elements or OHL protection zone require the fulfill of the regulations regarding the coexisting criteria and operating costs. The proposed approach based mechanical characteristics of conductors meets the new Romanian regulation regarding the living and working around HV power lines. Finally, the proposed methodology based on measurement and numerical simulation results is validated in a real study case. It is revealed that taking into account the structural details of the conductors in the operation of buildings near high voltage power lines is necessary.
