Abstract
The Cu K-edge resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) spectrum for a Hubbard ladder is examined by using the exact diagonalization technique for a finite-size cluster. A close relation between the RIXS spectra and hole-pair binding in the ladder system is demonstrated by introducing the next-nearest neighbor hopping of electrons. The result indicates that singlet pairs along rung control the spectral properties of RIXS in the Hubbard ladder.
