Abstract

Variation of angular dispersion, spatial and temporal chirp of a spatially chirped pulsed Gaussian (SCPG) laser beam with propagation, in either free space or through sequence of angular dispersers, leads to variation in different beam and pulse parameters such as pulse width, pulse front tilt, pulse chirp-dependent radius of curvature, beam size etc. To predict their values in given situation, closed-form expressions have been presented for a SCPG beam propagating through a general sequence of angular dispersers with different dispersive characteristics. Further, generalized transformations for pair of chirp parameters, e.g., temporal and spatial chirp of a pulsed laser beam in two domains are also presented.
