Abstract

I highlight theoretical problems related to hot plasmas in various astronomical sources in broad perspectives. Among others, I emphasize the physics of relativistic outflows and non-thermal phenomena resulting from particle acceleration in shock waves. First, I briefly summarize the present status of shock acceleration theory. Then, I discuss on theoretical implications of the simultaneous multifrequency observations of blazars.
