Abstract
The article describes a fundamentally new design method for a variety of cylindrical gears. The first stage of the proposed method is to synthesize the meshing line (ML). The influence of the ML form on local quality parameters has been determined based on the applied spur and helical gears types analysis. Calculation of the radii of curvature of the rack profile is an important theoretical part of the method. The article introduces the basic formula for determination of the curvature of the generating rack through the parameters of the contact point given on the ML. The calculation examples of the radii of curvature of the generating rack are made according to the basic formula and presented in the paper.
