Abstract
The predictions of a multi-configurational shell model continuum calculation for the11B(p, p) and11B(p,p′) reaction channels are discussed. In the calculated excitation function for the (p, p1) channel theT=1, 2− resonances play a dominant role in the region of 22 MeV to 24 MeV excitation in12C. These model predictions are consistent with the known parent states in the12B system. Corroborative evidence is also obtained by comparing theory with the differential cross section data.
