Abstract

A line of unit compressibility factor (Zeno line) was calculated for liquid gallium by means of Monte-Carlo simulations with the embedded atom potential. It is shown that the obtained Zeno line is the straight line on the density-temperature plane like for many other nonmetallic substances. The similarity relations between the critical and Zeno line parameters have appeared to be valid for Ga as well. The liquid-gas coexistence curve (binodal) for gallium has been constructed on the basis of the Zeno line similarities and the low-temperature measurements data.
