Abstract

This October is Canadian Library Month, which underscores the value of libraries and medical librarians as trusted sources in a world of information overload.
The changing information landscape has served to transform the role of medical libraries and librarians and to highlight their crucial role in supporting rigorous scientific research.
Medical librarians who specialize in the field of health technology assessment have taken on the role of monitoring the evolving landscape of information sources and technological advancements.
Building communities of practice among health technology assessment librarians offers opportunities to strengthen skill sets, discuss methodological standards in information retrieval, and nurture broad participation in these conversations.
