Abstract

The numerical knowledge that the students have learned in their community, is not taken into account in the schools of the Maya - tseltal region. The research for this study has been realized outside school, provided that we want to understand the knowledge that the students acquire in their community. Through the analysis we are trying to understand the implications of some specific aspects of the mathematical activities, relatively distant from the western world, in a particular community situated in the Chiapas's mountains.
