Abstract
We calculate the vibrational energy levels for all three possible isotopic species of the 2 1Σ g + state of Li 2 and from them deduce a set of Dunham constants. Since the 2 1Σ g + state has substantial ionic character, its shape is usual and so is the spacing of its vibrational levels. We find for 7Li 2, Y 10 = 123.76 cm −1 and Y 20 = 1.87 cm −1, for example.
