Abstract
In this paper we calculate the ray–path and traveltimes of seismic wave with vector ray tracing, and then develop a technique to reconstruct the velocity image of acoustic media from dircet traveltimes of crosshole data. The images of seismic velocity with two typical and complex geological models are presented, which demonstrate that it is a quick and highly precise technique for velocity reconstruction by crosshole data.
