Abstract

The velocity autocorrelation functions for the different species in a dilute hard sphere gas mixture are calculated by tracing the collision history of the individual hard spheres characterized by their number concentration (nA, nB), mass (mA, mB), and hard sphere diameter (σAA, σBB). Quantities related to the velocity autocorrelation function like the self-diffusion coefficient are calculated and compared to results obtained from the Enskog approximation scheme to the Boltzmann equation.
