Abstract
A simple “Simulator Scale” with tungsten pins is described, which can be placed in the beam tray or in a slot at the collimator opening. It projects clear images on the beam film, which permit to choose the setting of the collimator scale of the therapy machine. The tungsten pin images on the beam also indicate the central beam and the focus-film distance, which must be accurate for the fabrication of beam blocks. In our experience this Simulator Scale combined with an optimal diagnostic film-leadfoil-cassette arrangement has been more satisfactory than a special simulator.
