Abstract

Spin is the manipulation of language in a way that can distort a reader's interpretation of objective scientific findings. The objective of this study was to describe the degree and prevalence of spin found in statistically nonsignificant vascular surgery randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing carotid endarterectomy (CEA) with carotid artery stenting (CAS) for carotid stenosis (CS), and endovascular repair (EVAR) with open repair (OR) for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs).
