Abstract

The article explores the possibility of using pedagogical technology «portfolio» during the working process with teaching materials ‘Spotlight’ for the development of socio-cultural competence of students. The efficiency of use of modern pedagogical technology «Portfolio» (a collection of certain works for a given period of time) in the lessons is proved by many researchers. Several types of portfolio exist. Portfolio contributes to the development of socio- cultural competence – the knowledge of socio-cultural features of speech behavior and the ability to communicate with native speakers. Teaching materials «Spotlight» include tasks with «Portfolio» mark for junior, middle and senior level students.
