Abstract

Using magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna to realized wideband design of transmitarray element is presented. The transmitarray element uses the receive-and-radiate architecture to achieve electromagnetic wave transmission and phase manipulation. The wideband feature of ME dipole assistants the proposed transmitarray element to implement high transmission over a wide frequency range. Phase manipulation with one-bit quantization is realized by using a modified central-fed probe and through its rotation movement. A wide 1-dB transmission bandwidth of 47% is demonstrated. Some preliminary results for the transmitarray antenna are also included.
