Abstract
Abstract Much attention has been drawn to the use of investigative hypnosis in the legal and scientific communities. Many of the case rulings in the Appellate Court deal with hypnotic regression of witnesses and victims, whereas few address the use of hypnosis with defendants. This paper focuses on the use of hypnosis with defendants and discusses indication for its usage, procedural guidelines, and ethical considerations. Current legal rulings and their rationale are discussed. Six case histories are cited.
