Abstract

An analytical study of three source journals used by researchers in agricultural economics and agricultural extension in Nigeria was conducted to determine the reliance on government documents by researchers. The result shows that government publications constitute about 20 percent of the literature cited by researchers in agricultural economics and agricultural extension. The government documents cited were predominantly technical reports, statistical reports, and annual reports. The study concludes that agricultural libraries should endeavour to acquire government publications and disseminate information there-in to researchers.
