Abstract

Late planted full length 'Festival' raspberry canes cropped from early August to mid-October, 2-3 months after planting. The June 1 planting gave the highest yield in 1989 but a smaller fruit size compared to the June 20 planting. Large canes were more productive in 1988 and 1990 but had no effect on fruit size. Excessive amounts of nitrogen fertilization and trickle irrigation after planting appeared to be detrimental to yield.
