Abstract
Summary The various types of therapy employed in reticuloendotheliosis are briefly discussed, and the rationale for the use of cortisone is presented. The effect of cortisone on three patients, representing each of the three stages of reticuloendotheliosis, is reported. Cortisone produced only transient clinical improvement in eosinophilic granuloma and Letterer-Siwe's disease and did not prevent a fatal outcome in the latter case. The patient with Hand-Schuller-Christian syndrome has been well since treatment with cortisone.
