Abstract
The article is devoted to identifying the main features in the approaches of China and the United States to regional security in the Central Asian region after the withdrawal of the American contingent from Afghanistan. Central Asia has geopolitical importance in the context of China's economic growth, the American Chinese confrontation for spheres of influence, and changes in the situation in Afghanistan after the Taliban came to power. The study identified the main external and internal factors that determine the approaches of China and the United States to regional security in Central Asia after 2021.
