Abstract

Summary. The purpose of the article is to publish and analyze the information about the extraordinary events and immoral manifestations in the parts of Lviv military district (November 1945) as a source to the history of studying of Sovietisation peculiarities of the Western Ukrainian region, and to a comprehensive study of the issue of the violation of socialist legitimacy in these areas. Research methodology – the principles of scientificity, objectivity, historicism, methods of external and internal criticism of sources. The scientific novelty is that it was the first time when the information about extraordinary events and immoral manifestations in the parts of Lviv Military District (November 1945) and its analysis is introduced in scientific circulation. Conclusions. The published information about extraordinary events and immoral manifestations in the parts of Lviv Military District (November 1945) (State Security Service of Ukraine, f. 71: the acts of transfer of archival documentary materials of the KGB in Lviv region to the archive (1939‒1991), des. 4, case 8, pp. 162‒165) is an important source as to the history of studying of the features of the Sovietisation of the Western Ukrainian region and to a comprehensive study of the violation of socialist legitimacy on the above mentioned territory. According to the information potential, the published document is quite large. It shows the variety of violations throughout November 1945 by servicemen of the parts of Lviv military district. The document shows that lack of discipline became one of the elements that gave rise to crime. It was created the situation of complete lawlessness, total violation in military units, which was done by both ordinary employees and the heads of departments. The majority of crimes were committed in a state of heavy alcohol intoxication. In particular, illegal detention and imprisonment, robberies, rapes, murders. An interesting fact is included in this document – on October 31, four soldiers of 112 Rifle Division in the village Konstantynivka, Sarny district of Rivne region were engaged in looting, and when local residents tried to detain them, they began to impersonate themselves as banderivtsi.
