Abstract

The conflict in Ukraine has allowed the United States to strengthen its international position, and above all in relations with its allies. The Americans have managed to deal a severe blow to the political and economic ties between Russia and Europe. While Russia is suffering huge losses and casualties due to its participation in the "special military operation", Washington managed to avoid direct participation in this conflict by waging a proxy war against Russia at the expense mainly of Ukraine and Europe. At the same time, the American political and academic elite is gradually gaining confidence that the conflict in Ukraine will have to be resolved through diplomacy. This conflict is too costly for the United States and, especially, its NATO allies, and, what is especially worrying for many Americans, the escalation of this conflict could lead to an exchange of nuclear strikes.
