Abstract

This study sought to investigate the impact of immigrant labour on unemployment in South Africa. for the period 1980-2010. This relationship was examined using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. Unemployment was regressed against immigration, the Gross Domestic Product, inflation and education. The research aimed to establish whether immigrant labour contributes to unemployment in the manner suggested by the econometric model.
