Abstract

Introduction: While segmental resection is widely employed in minimally-invasive hepatic resection, hemihepatectomy continues to be performed in limited numbers due to complexity and the rigors of parenchymal transection. Over the span of greater that 500 laparoscopic hemihepatectomies we have honed a technique of transection of Cantlie's line that results in simplification, safety, and thus broader inclusion of candidate patients in minimally-invasive liver resection.
