Abstract

The Trends in Employment and Labour Productivity in the Pulp and Paper Industry. Despite many challenges, the pulp and paper industry is a dynamically developing branch of industry in the world. It seems that especially growing competition from less developed countries, such as Indonesia, and the falling demand for paper may be reasons for the difficulties of pulp and paper factories, i.e. decreasing profitability of paper production and number of employed in this industry in recent years. From the perspective of the employment volume and related work efficiency, it was interesting to examine and assess employment and the use of human resources in pulp and paper industry, especially in the countries of the Visegrad Group, which economies have been characterized by stable GDP growth in recent years.
