Abstract

AbstractAn experimental technique is presented which enables the determination of transference numbers by the Hittorf method even in very concentrated solutions. The transference numbers of silver nitrate in aqueous solutions were measured up to a concentration of 14 molal. The transport coefficients of this system were then calculated using the formalism of non‐equilibrium thermodynamics.
