Abstract

The transition state idea is extended beyond the independent particle model and applied to the electron propagator theory and the so-called EOM method for calculation of electron binding energies. Application to the second order propagator equations for the neon atom yields excellent results for ionization energies of 1s, 2s, and 2p electrons.
