Abstract
The article presents the analysis of existence of the traditional beliefs of the Ukrainians and their transformation on a material of publications in periodicals and literary texts of the works of Ukrainian writers. Among traditional beliefs considers the existence and Christian cosmogonic beliefs of Ukrainians, traced the transformation of the faith of Ukrainians in the power of words, magic, special people and human relationships; the important place of beliefs in superstitions, magic and conspiracies; focused on importance in the daily life of the beliefs related to pregnancy, birth and child care.
