Abstract
Cross sections for the following reactions with 36 MeV 16O ions have been measured: Neutron transfer 27Al(16O, 15O)28Al less-than-or-eq, slant7 μbn Proton transfer 27Al(16O, 17F)26Mg 210±50 μbn Neutron-proton exchange transfer 27Al(16O, 16F)27Mg 0.7±0.4 μbn The mechanism of the exchange transfer reactions is discussed in terms of the single transfer reactions. There is some evidence to suggest that an exchange reaction is not composed of two single transfer reactions.
